Alo-
Hope you are doing well and enjoying the Spring Weather. We are hoping to start getting some warmer weather this next week (meaning the grey overcast that has been here for the past 3.5 months leaves). This week I don't really have much to report on.
Always Adjusting:
This week was mainly just adjustment to the new area and assignment. This transfer I'll be helping as an Assistant, which is mainly a lot of behind the scenes work. It reminds me a lot of when I was doing Social Media work a little over a year ago - rather than managing the social media, you help with different aspects of the mission. There isn't anything extremely stressful or overwhelming -- it is just lots of small tasks you have to learn to do. My current companion has great experience in this role and has been teaching me lots. He leaves at the end of this transfer, so I am trying to absorb as much as I can to get it ready for the next transfer.
The Mission Branch:
One aspect I have been enjoying is working with members in the mission branch. The mission branch is an online branch that covers the entire area of Vietnam. People who do not live within the boundaries of Saigon or Hanoi attend this branch. We have a responsibility to teach people who are in this category and support the members. It has been extremely humbling as I have tried to communicate with people who are from central Vietnam -- there have been some points where I truly don't understand anything that is being said.
One of my favorite people to teach so far has a friend "Quý" who lives in Southern Vietnam. She was just recently baptized and is so funny. She loves showing us all of her stuffed animal "La Bu Bu" creatures and telling us their names. She struggles with paying attention during lessons, but we do our best to incorporate her stuffed animals into the lessons.
Many of the online lessons we have in the mission branch are with families and children. Teaching children has been an interesting new challenge for me. My whole mission I have essentially taught people who were 18 and older, and those who did have families to teach were usually much younger families with children who couldn't really contribute in lessons. I am certainly going to need to learn some new ways to teach, so it is going to be an interesting new skill to learn.
The Work:
As for how missionary work goes - it is pretty much the same. This last Sunday we had a baptism, so we are excited for her. We have many progressing friends that are close to baptismal commitments, so we are trying to keep supporting them in the best way we can. Our mission is a little bit smaller this transfer, but small and simple things can bring the best.

We are taking it slow today and will go get some hamburgers or something. Although living in the Ba Dinh area is a little bit more "expensive" on the food side, it comes with plenty of eating options outside of the normal bowls of "Phở" and rice. I know I'll miss it - but I have enjoyed eating at the burger joint right next door to our apartment.
Thanks for all the emails! I always love hearing updates from people and all achievements. I will always work to have a response by the most recent P-Day that I can.
Have a great week! I'll try to take some more photos this week. I'm doing good.
Love,
